Santos Bretons Limited Registration Policy
Limited registration helps protect our breeding program and the integrity of the bloodlines we produce. That said, all puppies are sold with Limited Registration and shall be registered as such with the American Kennel Club (AKC). Pups will be registrable with the United Kennel Club (UKC) after meeting the Santos Breton Limited Registration Requirements outlined below.
These requirements apply to American Kennel Club (AKC) “Brittany” and United Kennel Club (UKC) “Epagneul Breton” registration.
To have Limited Registration status updated to Full Registration, the following conditions must be met and proof thereof provided to Santos Bretons.
- The dog must be of good health verified by a licensed veterinarian.
- The dog must have a Hip radiograph sent to the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals (OFA) for grading. If done at 1 year of age, a “GOOD” or better is required. If done after 2 years of age, a “FAIR” or better is required.
- The dog must Confirm “Excellent” from a Judge that specializes in the Epagneul Breton breed, OR earn a conformation Champion Title in UKC competition.
- The dog must earn a minimum of AKC SENIOR HUNTER Title for pointing breeds or UKC GUN CLASS HUNT Title for pointing breeds.
- The dog must earn a “PASS” in a UKC WRT OR AKC Water Test.
